A journey on a paddle wheeler is memorable, much like the experiences we encounter on this incredible journey called life. On both journeys, there is only one way to ensure safe passage-we rely on the captain to guide us through the waters. Jesus, seen in the clouds, is the Captain-the only One who can navigate us safely to our destination. The older, wiser man is teaching the children that in this incredible journey of the Christian life the way is through the cross, reflected in the water. The sunset shining on the water and the fact that there is no horizon reflects the promise of the most incredible journey of all, when our earthly travels are complete-the journey that takes us to live forever in a life beyond our greatest expectations.
