May these words of my mouth and this meditation of my heart be pleasing in your sight, Lord, my Rock and my Redeemer. Psalm 19:14
Today’s painting, “Meditation” is part of the Sacred Dwelling Collection by Jack E. Dawson. If you are unfamiliar with this series, it is a collection of paintings illustrating Church buildings across the world that are a testimony to the faith and dedication of millions over the centuries. The structures are as individual as the cultures that were inspired to provide a place of worship, instruction and fellowship where the real “sacred dwellings,” gather. These are Believers in Jesus Christ, who carry a message of faith in their hearts. Paintings in this series will feature four important thoughts and their symbols based on 2 Timothy 3:16-17, “All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work.” To learn more about this collection and see the other paintings included click HERE.
The painting for today features a humble building and person who is meditating with Bible in hand. Meditation speaks of time spent meditating on the Word of God and being inspired by God’s creation. It is vital to treasure a favorite passage and be encouraged by the promises and commandments gleaned from the Scriptures. If we trust the Spirit of God, Who inspires the Word of God to equip the people of God to do the work of God in Jesus’ name, we will see our homes transformed into sanctuaries and places of security where one is loved, supported and encouraged to impact the world. Do you have a quiet place and special time to spend in meditation?
